Supporting Local Breweries We Love

At Lowcountry Taps, we believe every pour tells a story. When we roll up with one of our vintage tap trucks, we’re not just serving beverages we’re bringing people together around local flavor. That’s why we’re passionate about supporting local breweries right here in the Lowcountry. Their craft, creativity, and commitment to community are exactly what makes our mobile bar services special.

Whether it’s a wedding in Charleston, a corporate gathering in Bluffton, or a backyard celebration on Hilton Head Island, the beers we serve often come from breweries we know and love. Today, we’re raising a glass to a few of our favorites.

Edmund’s Oast (Charleston, SC)

If you’ve ever been to an event with our tap trucks, chances are you’ve seen an Edmund’s Oast beer flowing. Known for their creativity and balance, this brewery has become a fan favorite with our guests.

Something Cold is hands-down one of the most requested beers we serve. Crisp, refreshing, and true to its name, it’s the perfect easy-drinker for warm evenings or beachside weddings.

For those who like something a little more adventurous, Cereal for Dinner offers a playful, complex flavor that surprises and delights. And then there’s Bound by Time IPA, a hazy, juicy IPA that checks all the boxes for hop lovers.

We love working with Edmund’s Oast not only because of their standout beer lineup, but also because they embody the spirit of Charleston’s creative, welcoming, and endlessly inspiring.

Southern Barrel Brewing (Bluffton, SC)

Just up the road in Bluffton, Southern Barrel Brewing has earned a reputation for bold flavors and unforgettable names. Their Damn Yankee IPA is a Lowcountry Taps staple. Not only is it a crowd-pleaser in taste — smooth, hoppy, and balanced — but the name itself always gets guests talking. At weddings and corporate events alike, people gravitate toward the tap just to say, “I’ll have a Damn Yankee, please.”

That sense of fun is exactly what we love about partnering with Southern Barrel. They make beer approachable, enjoyable, and memorable which is exactly what we aim to do with our mobile bar services. Whether we’re serving Damn Yankee at a rustic barn wedding or a Bluffton block party, it’s always a hit.

Westbrook Brewing (Mount Pleasant, SC)

When it comes to variety and creativity, Westbrook Brewing in Mount Pleasant always delivers. Their beers are staples on our tap trucks, and we love highlighting the range of options they offer.

For guests who want something light and refreshing, Very Fine Lager is a go-to. It’s smooth, crisp, and endlessly drinkable. White Thai is another standout — a Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with lemongrass and ginger that feels both familiar and unique. And then there’s Shore Leave Lager, a beer that does more than taste good. Proceeds from its sales support the USS Yorktown Foundation, connecting craft beer with a cause that matters to our community.

Serving Westbrook at our events gives us a chance to not only share amazing beer but also highlight how breweries can make a positive impact beyond the pint glass.

Hilton Head Brewing (Hilton Head Island, SC)

No roundup of our favorite breweries would be complete without Hilton Head Brewing. This local gem brings island flavor to everything they create, making them a natural fit for our tap trucks.

Their Tropical Lager is exactly what you’d want at a beachfront wedding or summer festival — light, fruity, and refreshing without being overpowering. In the fall, their Oktoberfest always makes an appearance on our taps. Malty, smooth, and perfect for cooler evenings, it’s a seasonal favorite we look forward to every year.

Hilton Head Brewing captures the laid-back, coastal vibe that so many of our clients want at their events. Whether we’re parked at a resort, a private estate, or a backyard on the island, their beers fit the mood perfectly.

Why Supporting Local Breweries Matters

At Lowcountry Taps, our tap trucks aren’t just about serving drinks they’re about creating experiences. Choosing to highlight local breweries is part of that mission. Here’s why it matters:

  • Freshness & Quality: Local breweries take pride in small-batch brewing, which means the beer is fresher and full of flavor.
  • Community Support: Every keg we buy from a South Carolina brewery helps support local jobs, families, and the craft beer scene.
  • Conversation Starters: From a beer called “Damn Yankee” to one brewed with lemongrass and ginger, local brews spark conversations and memories at events.
  • Unique Selections: Instead of sticking to generic options, we can offer our clients something truly special — a beer that represents the Lowcountry.

When guests leave your wedding or corporate event raving about the beer, it’s a win for everyone — you, us, and the breweries that make it possible.

Bringing Local Flavor to Your Next Event

One of the best parts of our job is customizing each event to fit the client’s vision. Sometimes that means building a cocktail menu around seasonal fruits and herbs. Other times, it’s curating a beer list that features hometown favorites from Edmund’s Oast, Southern Barrel, Westbrook, and Hilton Head Brewing.

Our vintage tap trucks aren’t just mobile bars, they’re conversation pieces, photo ops, and a way to showcase the best of the Lowcountry. Imagine your guests gathered around, sipping Something Cold on a warm Charleston evening, or raising a pint of Oktoberfest as the sun sets on Hilton Head Island. These are the moments that turn an event into a memory.
